EVENT 1
Hindi Poetry Writing Workshop by Samiksha Purohit
30th October 2021
Samiksha Purohit is an aspiring heritage professional, a dancer, a hoarder of memories and the author of Virah ke Rang, a poetry collection on grief. Her interests are as varied as her thoughts. She specializes in overthinking and holds a degree in cooking stories from the university of fantasy. She loves being known as the old-soul and mother hen of her friend circle. She views the world with tinted glasses of happiness and hope and is willing to share the same with everyone around her.
Using image and word prompts, Samiksha will guide the participants to organize random thoughts, memories, and emotions in their minds and weave them into meaningful, rhythmic words. By the end of the session, the participants would have created verses which they would be able to call their own.
EVENT 2
English Poetry Writing Workshop by Nipunika Sachdeva
24th October 2021
Nipunika Sachdeva is a 23-year-old writer and poet who likes to write and perform poetry about mental, health, gender and sexuality, among other random thoughts. They have been involved in writing and performing since their undergraduate days and have been a Poetry Fellow at Slam Out Loud. They currently work as a Content Creator and run a podcast series about the Indian education system.
Through a collective exercise, Nipunika will introduce the participants to the ease of writing poetry by guiding them to take the first step. From their experiences, they will discuss writers’ block and share ways to find one’s rhythm, comfort, and familiarity in writing and performing poetry.
